| gem | Day
| reason | Nagi is a mage that relies on light. In the Negima universe, a mage's source of power comes from either light or dark emotions. If a person is mostly positive, they're light and if they're negative, they're dark. Nagi already firmly falls into light so he would really feel no choice but to pick the Day Gem.
| wings | He’s got the double set of wings so 4 total. Rather thin and clearish (obviously) and have a yellow tint to them.
| personality |
Nagi is one work of art. If you could throw him on an alignment chart, he'd fall under chaotic good. Really, he's a good guy and he does good things. Saving the world, kicking the butt of evil, and all these other delightful things. On the other hand, he's very impulsive. He does things the way he wants to do them and he does it RIGHT NOW. To balance it out, he tends to keep a smile plastered to his face but what really could be worse than a good guy pounding into you with a maniacal smile plastered across his face?
He's also rather popular among his peers and even has his own fan club. He doesn't mind signing autographs and taking pictures but all the attention goes to his head, leaving him rather arrogant about his own abilities. So to say it simply, he kicks ass and the worst part about him is that he knows he kicks ass and he'll frequently remind you that he kicks ass. Oh yeah, that important thing you needed him to remember? He absolutely forgot about it. Whoops. On top of all that, Nagi is very, very casual. That attitude comes off as rude to others who want respect but Nagi treats them like he'd prefer to be treated. As equals. That gets him slapped among royalty quite frequently.
Intelligence wise, Nagi isn't exactly a 100 watt light bulb. But just because he lacks book smarts, don't underestimate him. Nagi is a wily little human and capable of outsmarting those who have lived hundreds of years longer than he has. Due to his lack of book smarts, the most startling fact that people learn about him is that he doesn't really know Latin very well, which is THE main staple of being a mage. He has to carry around a notebook where he has all his spells written down because he can't remember them. At most, he recalls five or six spells from memory and those happen to be the ones he spams the most. You heard it here first folks. The man who is famed for being able to cast a thousand spells only really knows a few.
To sum it up, he's the savior of the world in a grinning nutshell. Strong, a very tiny bit wise, boastful, but perfectly capable of judging what's right and wrong and getting jiggy with it to keep the good flowing in the world.
As far as relationships, he’s got quite a few under his belt. First comes his lover, Arika. He’s prone to picking on her and then getting his ass kicked in return. She’s the only character who can reliably kick his butt and she does it every time he flirts with her, even though they have a kid together. Whether they’re married or not is never answered, just that she dies shortly after giving birth to Nagi’s child. After that is his son, Negi. The two have never actually encountered each other much at all. But during the moment together that Nagi left his BFF Albireo to give his son, Nagi was lovingly violent to Negi. Testing him while making sure his son made sure to improve himself. Next is his two friends, Rakan and Albireo. Rakan and Nagi are known for their penchant of beating the ever living fuck out of each other very frequently and this is considered a good relationship. Albireo is Nagi’s best friend and he distributes wise advice and trolls Nagi at the same time because he’s about eighty times smarter than him. His final big relationship partner is Evangeline, the vampire stuck looking 12 years old for eternity. Nagi saved her life and she ended up falling in love with him. Instead of being a nice guy and saying he had someone else, he pretty much led her on until she eventually tried to force him into a relationship. Then he locked her up at a middle school, said he’d get her out in three years, then completely forgot about her. What a great guy!

Nagi is a mage whose affinity is with electricity. Most of the very few spells he has memorized are electric spells. Thanks to the nature of Negima, spells have tiers so every spell has an equivalent in another elemental type. Because electricity is a banned magic, I’m fine with just nulling his electricity spells or swapping him to ice affinity. Mod choice!
Either way, he’s capable of casting almost all spells. In his spellbook, he has a thousand spells listed to draw from and some of them are massively wonky. Like a spell that specifically locks a person in a school until the caster releases them from it. It should also be noted that he knows Western Spells. Those types of spells are more D&D like and less spirituality based like Eastern Spells. They’re cast by using Latin and Ancient Greek spellwords.
Because Nagi is Light aligned due to his personality, he has trouble casting spells that are Dark based. If said Dark spells need to be pulled into the body and Nagi casts them, he’ll severely hurt himself.
Anyway, here is a list of spells since Nagi probably has them all written down in his handy spellbook.

Nagi doesn't stop there, sadly. He’s also well versed in Ninja Arts and hand-to-hand combat. He’s capable of making fully fledged clones of himself. He can also make use of two very commonly used ninja abilities, Instant Movement and Void Instant Movement. The first works as a short ranged teleport on the ground, allowing him to appear near or behind his enemies at will or to quickly retreat from range. The latter is the same thing but it can be used in the air. The range on these techniques is very short, ten meters or so at the most. However, they can be used over and over, allowing him to jump short distances multiple times in a row.
Like all magi in the Negima universe, Nagi is capable of forming contracts with others. This works for anyone, regardless of skill or magic level. On forming a contract, two pactio cards are created. Using the pactio card, Nagi can speak telepathically with the partner, grant them physical power and protection, and teleport them to his side if they’re less than a half a kilometer away. The partner, on the other hand, gains a magical artifact that suits them best. There’s no definition of what is ever chosen except that the artifact tends to fall directly within the partner’s already existing skillset. For example, someone good at using swords may gain a magical sword of something or another. It varies wildly but is never actually something that is ridiculously overpowered.

I’ve just been thinkin’.... What’s the point here? No, no, not a ‘why are we here’. More like, who the hell am I supposed to be savin’? I just don’t appear places without someone givin’ me the what for and how to.
Whatever, that’s pointless. The real question is, how many of you know the great Thousand Master? You could be gettin’ autographs right now if you wanted. Though it’d be hard to explain considering that no one problem knows me. Damn these new world problems. You never know who has your back and who doesn’t when you first show up.
Fine, anyone who wants to pal with the greatest mage to ever live, just line up here. I’ve got your back and I’ll take on whoever thinks they can take the top. Bring it on!

Nagi had to rub his chin for a moment. Not that he was wasting too much time thinking. Not much of his brain power was used for those kinds of purposes. Nagi knew he wasn’t exactly the most intelligent so he’d rather think about more important things. Which meant that his choice was perfectly meaningless to him. Yet, in a way, oddly symbolic. Once he had finished the facade of actually thinking, he selected the Day Gem. Why? Because he definitely wasn't a person of the dark. In his mind, it made sense. He was a mage that thrived on positive emotions, meaning he preferred light. Light is brightest during the day so the Day Gem was best. When it dropped into his hand though...
"Whoa! Is this freakin' awesome or what?"
Despite being a mage of many spells, Nagi never really sported wings before. He practically spun in circles to get a better look at his back. Once he satisfied himself with a decent look, he took the next logical step. Learn how to move his wings. New problems that were presented physically were never a challenge. They just needed a little oomph behind them. He’d add an electrical spell to look cool but....okay. After a couple of useless tries, that seemed to be out of his reach right now. Again, nothing to concern himself with. He’d bother about that later.
Once he managed to pick himself up off the ground with said wings, he focused on the possibly more important part. Which was the gem granted to him. Nagi didn’t know its worth nor did he pretend to care about that much. He’d make sure to keep it, unsure of whether it would be important or not, but there would be no reason to try to get rid of it. It did give him wings, after all. Giving that up would be a little stupid right now. There were more important things out there, like how he could present himself to be more awesome. Or, on that note, help out others.
Oh sure, he was a loudmouth but that didn't mean he couldn't assist. Or take the forefront of activities. His spellbook granted him the ability to heal others or simply kick their ass. Though with Nagi, he didn't need spells to kick or punch. Just the muscle memory helped him from years of doing just that. He granted himself a small smirk for that, knowing that others would definitely be able to depend on him. Whether they knew about him in the end was a different story.
The story now was to wonder why this place was so...natural. The fact that it was relying on wood meant that Nagi wasn’t surprised. After all, he had no access to any of his electricity based spells, which meant someone didn't want a fire. If he tried fire or heat based spells, he was sure he’d be just as easily rejected. Common sense told him that the powers to be didn't want anyone to start fires that were too big to contain. Whatever, Nagi had no intention of burning down anything. He might wonder where he was going to get his steak but he wasn't someone who enjoyed murdering nature. Still...well, there was a lot to get used to. He wasn't going to be a slouch though. He mentally urged this world to prepare itself because Nagi, the Thousand Master, was on the scene. There was nothing that would escape him.
